Meet: Boris.
Boris’s main concerns, in his own words: “My main financial focus is on the costs that go away in retirement. Most of my top monthly outlays are to items that will go away and/or reduce when we retire. Our top expenses are contributions to our 401ks, Cash Position, Social Security, Local Tax, Roth IRAs, State Tax (move to no tax state) and HSAs. We make about $200,000 and I’m hoping to get some validation in my predictions that we will have have $112,000 in current expenses that go away when we retire. I’m prepare to take into account that there are also related expenses like commute and clothes and lunches/coffees. This of course is offset by expenses that may increase like dining out, and travel.”
