Meet Samantha
Age: 33
Income: $65,000 (gross)
Samantha’s situation in her own words:
I’m 33 years old and have been living in apartments for the last 12 years and I’m tired of it! I feel like I ready to buy a home but I’m nervous. A little background: my gross annual income is $65,000, I’m totally debt-free, and a pretty conservative spender in general. My company was recently acquired by another, so I’m a bit nervous about the long-term outlook of my current role. I have a six-month emergency fund saved, plus $10,000 (a.k.a. my down payment fund). I have almost $50,000 in retirement funds.
