Show Notes:
INFLATION IS INFLATING THINGS: [5:22]
- “How much exposure do people have to inflation, based on the lives they live?“
- FUEL PRICES: Fuel prices are rising, but I don’t think people have full exposure to it.
- Damian: Fuel is a place where people can feel the pinch, but right now, we’re fortunate enough where life isn’t the same as it was two years ago: people aren’t driving as much.
- GROCERIES & RESTAURANTS: Any increase in demand, can increase prices. Any reduction in supply can increase prices as well.
- Damian: Commodities are often affected in rising prices. Hopefully this is temporary.
- Pete: Futures and commodities are stable to the point they don’t indicate this will be a long-term issue.
- FUEL PRICES: Fuel prices are rising, but I don’t think people have full exposure to it.
MAILBAG QUESTION: [17:17]
- My wife and I have been looking to sell our home and purchase one that fits our needs better. Any time we find a house we like, it sells quickly or for more than we’re willing to pay. In the current market, our Realtor things we can get $30-40k more for our home than we could have a few years ago, which would get us about $100k in proceeds. Does it make sense to sell while the market is high and then rent for 1-2 years and wait for prices to come down?”
- Damian: If you need to sell your house right now, then do it.
- If you want to sell your house right now, there’s only one way we’d encourage you to do that: be okay with renting for awhile.
- Damian: This could be an interesting time for you to make really serious move in your financial standing.
